Lindlovens IF 3 - 2 Linden Hockey 2009-12-16
The game against Lindloven ended 3-2 after shoot out. Linden finished in last position in Division 1 C and will therefore now play in the lower part when the league is split up in two halfs, to avoid relegation. We can only hope that the HockeyCoach.se sponsored Andreas Ahlang will return before the season end, but the most important thing is although that Andreas hand will recover correctly.

2009-11-22 ...not able to go out on the ice # 14
A hectic week, but despite the plaster the mood is at the top, maybe I have a lot to thank for the shaved head, saving both time and temper in the mornings. You should have seen the eyes of my colleagues when they saw that I was shaved, it was in their eyes "what the hell did you do, damn what you look like", or yes, maybe they said it too, hahaha.
No training this week, much time has gone to the apartment where I did not get much done alone, although it starts to take shape now, walls, ceilings, floors, now it's only the kitchen left.
I follow the team from a distance since it is extremely hard to be in the stadium and not being able to go out on the ice, the teams performance is less good for the moment and the squad is getting thinner by more and more injuries. The pressure you feel in your chest becomes even heavier when you see things going badly for the team. But I must say that I believe really hard on the team and that we lift after Christmas and secure the div. 1 contract. My mental mind begins to rediscover and I finish with the post "what does not kill, it hardens" over and out / / # 14

Mean while on the rink outside... The Hockey School were practicing...
2009-11-16, 1 mm hair cut # 14
I have been without training for over a week and it’s driving me to insanity. Everyone knows that if you do not eat breakfast, you become easily angry. About an hour before the breakfast, I take a shower every morning and to do that with the plaster is not easy. It feels as if the axle is about to fall off due to lactic acid.
15 minutes later it's time to fix the hair with one hand and it’s not working, not at all. The day doesn’t begin well at all, it's hardly I recognize myself.
Now it is in the evening and I've done the right thing, I shaved of all my hair and changed the “hockey-hairstyle” to a 1 mm hair. I suspect that tomorrow, when I go to work, my colleagues will think that, it has snapped in my head. It remains to be seen. Good night / / # 14

2009-11-12 What helps against disappointment? # 14
Good morning,
It's Thursday and I’m plastered up to half of the upper arm. I have painkillers for the arm, but it doesn’t help against the disappointment I feel right now. The doctor told me that it would take 3 months before recovery, damn annoying, then it's time to run the pre-season/off season practices again and you have missed the whole thing! I hope he told me the maximum recovery time (worst case), I hope that the recovery will go much faster.
What was it that had happened then?
Last season I taped my wrist after some knocks, the doctor thought that a “wall” that keeps the tendon at altitude is probably broken. Tendon must then be passed freely farther down the outside of the wrist and then it was just broken.
They have now sewn back the tendon with tissue taken from the hand. Now I’m waiting for better times.
A positive feature of the whole thing was the anaesthesia before the surgery… / / # 14
Linden Hockey 5 - 4 Surahammar 2009-11-11
Karjala Cup for National Teams is over, Russia won the tournament, Finland second. That means also that the leagues are up and rolling again, including division 1 C.
Unfortunately I was not present to see Linden Hockey beat Surahammar in over time, but I can see that the Linden Hockey coach Jocke Lundholm has done a good job with the team, the team is undefeated for three games in a row, during the ordinary game time.
The HockeyCoach.se sponsored Andreas Ahlang has gone through a surgery, I don't know more about it for the moment, but I hope and believe that everything is OK. I will write more about it later. Andreas has also promised to write some sentences him self to the page.
In the video below you can see the reson to why I wasn't present at the game, I spent my time outside on the ice with my 5 year old son...
Today the level of my writing varried quite much, from Karja Tournament to division 1 to a five year old skating. ; )
2009-11-10 Time for the Cutting Board # 14
Tomorrow it's time for the big day, up and lie down on cutting board to get the problem solved, to sew a tendon should not be so difficult.
I have started renovating my new apartment and even with plaster it’s progressing, thanks to friends. The plaster is cracked in 3 places, it was not very ergonomically suited for physical work, however, it was suitable for office work, so I didn’t need to call me in sick. That's all for today, now I’m just waiting for tomorrow. / / # 14
2009-11-04 Off-ice practices gives results # 14
Today I received the letter that I hoped for, or not. I now have a time on the orthopedic clinic, which is good even if it’s several weeks away, the bad thing is that an operation/surgery is required. I feel like the hockey season will be shorter than expected, but hopefully I'm back after Christmas.
I already feel the effects of my stomach and back practices gives results, even if you practice during the season, it will never be like this focused and intense. I’m thinking of more leg practices, but it's sad to run the exercises without additional weights.
Private Life is a bit upside down right now, so it is especially sad, not to be able to play hockey. I bought a new apartment because of a separation from my partner, the positive is that I will have more time for training from now on. / / # 14
Lindloven 6-5 Linden Hockey 2009-11-01

2009-10-31 Plaster irritates already # 14
It's Saturday and it has been a week since the injury. I have no idea what it is or to what extent, but it feels very annoying when I felt I was coming back after a smaller injury in the shoulder. I could have had an appointment with a hand specialist in the neighbour town Orebro, but it would be cheaper for the hospital to let me wait two weeks and get surgery time in my own home town.
Only a few days have passed and the plaster irritates already, I have been very good with the alternate training and done practices for stomach and back. It is match tomorrow but I will probably not go with the team.
I just saw the movie The Rocket, and I want to play hockey so much it hurts.
Linden Hockey 6 - 4 Tierp 2009-10-28
Finally a victory for Linden Hockey, but the HockeyCoach.se sponsored Andreas Ahläng is injured and will be away for some time... The game ended 6-4, but could have ended 6-0 if Linden had closed the door as they should have.
Linden Hockey 1 - 2 Balsta Hockey 2009-10-25
Another loss, but the game was 1-1 almost to the end. I think this game was the seasons best for the HockeyCoach.se sponsored Andreas Ahläng. Hard work the whole game, with good speed in skating and a couple of really good scoring opportunities.
Sodertalje SK 4 - 2 Frolunda Indians 2009-10-24
Valbo 6 - 1 Linden Hockey 2009-10-21
The fifth loss in a row, and the team is really struggeling for the moment. The assistant coach has resigned and a lot of injuries made that Linden Hockey only could form three formations to the game against Valbo, those formations included two junior players, attending their first games in the division 1 league. I think there are couple of things for the team to focus on:
1. Every player must feel that they are responsible for the result and need to do their job with little bit more engagement and to 100%, 95% is not good enough. This is for all areas, defensive zone, neutral zone and offensive zone.
2. Better organization after loosing the puck... If you are playing 2-2-1, you can't have the team spread around all over the ice, two players at the same boarder, and the center ice totally wide open. The first checking player is almost behind the goal, and the defensive players are on own blue line. Either you decide to check hard and move the players forward or you move all the players back, to have a more defensive set up and try to win the puck higher up on the ice.

Since the team is having problems stopping the attacks in the neutral zone (this is one of the problems), some adjustments are needed in the 2-2-1 set up.
Or why not try to switch to 1-3-1, I know it is hard to switch the system of playing, but some actions are needed.

3. Keep it simple. Out with the puck from own zone, and dump it deep in the attacking zone.
To summarize this, the team needs to think about Steiners model
Capacity + Team Spirit - Co-operational losses = performance
The team has the capacity they have today, I don't think they will be able to get any new players due to the financial situation, therefore you need to work with the team spirit and to eliminate the co-operational losses!
The second model that can summarize this is:
Talent + ability x attitude = performance. The players have their talent they have today, they can work with their ability to perform, 95% is not enough, and if you have the right attitude / engagement, every shift during the game, you can beat the more talented teams.
Linden Hockey 0 - 5 IFK Arboga 2009-10-18
The first period analyzed by a 5 year old HockeyCoach Jr. Red box symbolizes Linden, with the goal behind it, and the blue is for IFK Arboga. Shots in the first period 3-22 to Arboga.

Arboga used the same power play start up from own zone as in the first game, and it still worked well.
Linden Hockey 2 - 5 Borlange Hockey 2009-10-14
Hedemora 5 - 1 Linden Hockey 2009-10-11
Linden Hockey 2 - 3 Enkoping 2009-10-09
0-2 imediatly in the beginning of the first period, but Linden Hockey came back in the game, after two goals from the team Captain Marcus Abrahamsson. Although in the second period Enkoping managed to get an another goal, which also ended up as the game winning goal. Linden Hockey made a good game against the favourites for the league victory. Below you can see some game pictures and hockey clips of the HockeyCoach.se sponsored player Andreas Ahlang.

2-2 after full time. 2-3 after over time.
Even if Linden Hockey had the lead in the game against Lindloven with 2-0 and got one point, they had big problems with their 2-2-1 play/game set up. I will not comment the pictures more than that... If you want to see all the pictures, please click here >>

Bålsta HC 6 - 4 Linden Hockey 2009-09-27
Linden Hockey lost their third game in the league against Bålsta HC with 6-4. Linden Hockey started up the game strongly and had the lead with 3-0 in the first period. The third goal was made by Andreas Ahläng, the period ended with Linden Hockey in lead with 1-3. In the second period Bålsta scored three power play goals and was therefore in the lead with 4-3. Bålsta made one more power play goal in the third period, before Linden scored to 5-4. In the end of the period Linden pulled out their goalie, but only 12 seconds after that, Bålsta put the puck in the empty net. The game ended 6-4 to Bålsta Hockey.
Linden Hockey 1 – 5 Valbo 2009-09-24
The first home game was far away as good as the game against Arboga. The team lacked speed and engagement in this game against Valbo. Although the score was 1-1 in the end of the period (the goal Linden Hockey made was a really nice one, in power play). In the end of the period Linden had a break away, but instead of goal, Valbo got the puck and scored 1-2.
Timeout Linden Hockey against Valbo
The second period started like the first and Valbo scored 1-3. After this the Linden Hockey coach took a time out and was able to wake the team for ten minutes. But after this the team were back in the same track and Valbo scored 1-4. The last goal was in empty net.

...and the same move (power play start up) as a picture

2009-09-20 One point from league premiere
1-1 After full time, but Linden Hockey was this close, getting a goal in the end of the game.
2009-09-20 Loss in shootout
2009-09-19 Practice games are over!
Linden Hockey has played seven practice games during the pre-season, and lost all of them. Although the losses has not been big, the young team might need some time to adapt to the higher game pace/speed, game system and the new team-mates. In the teams last practice game against Kumla (3-4 loss) the HockeyCoach.se sponsored player Andreas Ahlang were one of the goal scorers.
Yesterday the team had a photo session with the new game jerseys on and on Sunday Linden Hockey will go to Arboga and start the league games.
In the newspaper Folket you could read about the teams’ goal for the season, it’s to stay in the same division and avoid relegation. The league has many teams that can beat each other, but Enkoping are the favourites, says Linden Hockey’s coach Jocke Lundholm.
